Naada Yoga Thursdays
Effective immediately, all Shāktānanda Āshram events are offered on a donation basis.  Participants are expected to give according to their means.  If your donation involves something other than money, please get agreement on what that consists of ahead of time.  While I would love to accept chickens, goats, or cats, there are limitations of what is allowable in my lease. Did you know every letter of the Sanskrit alphabet is a complete mantra and holds encapsulated cosmology within it that produces a specific state of being? It's true. This is why correct pronunciation is so important. Naada (Sacred Sound) Yoga has the capacity to create relaxed states in the body and mind equal to or surpassing physical postural yoga asana, and it is fully accessible for every body. You don't have to have any particular physical capabilities, other than speech, to participate in it. We will explore sacred sound together using simple syllables that have profound effects on our bodies and our states of consciousness. We'll start slowly with Bija mantras, and you don't have to memorize a thing. You can treat it as a guided meditation or take on learning the details: All levels of interaction are potent, and are welcome here. Emphasis will be placed on pronunciation and placement of the sound as it's produced in our mouths, travels through our physical bodies, and takes us into the spaces beyond. Practices will be grounded in various teachings and lineages I studied while in India, and acknowledgement will be given to the source of each of them, while ever knowing the One Source of all. Sacred Sound Yoga is a gift to yourself and to the planet. It produces profound states of bliss and awakening, allowing ever increasing capacity to be present and effective in our ever changing world.  This is key if we're going to come together and make a difference in service to all. Children are welcome if they are willing and able to participate fully. Each session will run from 7:30pm to 9:00pm, followed by 30 minutes for sharing of prasaad and experiences. We will not meet on third Thursdays. This is a "By Donation" event, with a suggested donation of $15 - $25 per week. Higher or lower donations, depending on your means, are welcome. The funds will be used to keep the lights on and the space available for community spiritual practice. No one is ever turned away for lack of funds, but everyone must contribute something. Please make prior arrangements if your contribution is non-monetary. Email devibhaktananda@outlook.com for more info, including location.
